The information that I prepared for my Lithuanian friends about Asakusa and Uena of Tokyo/這是之前介紹給來自立陶宛 的朋友們有關東京的淺草和上野資料

(OS.之前當立陶宛朋友的小導遊,英文太爛所以準備了說明的資料。只有中文跟日文還是沒法橫行霸道,只好乖乖準備了~,但挺不錯的!其實這是配合圖片說明的,自製的觀光資料,哈哈!)

 

 


 ASAKSA 

The retrospecive streets relate to the time when Tokyo was
once called Edo

 Time has stopped here since the Edo Period, Which is reflected by the numerous stores in Asakusa.Take a walk and you can step back in time.

  

Kaminarimon

 

The main gate to the Kinryuzan-Senso-ji Temple, Kaminarimon is an eight-pillared gate, painted vermillion with a unique architecture. Originally erected in 942 A.D., the present structure is a reconstruction built in 1960.

Nakamise-Dori (Nakamise Street)

 

The temple entrance between Kaminari-mon and Senso-ji Temple is known as Nakamise Street. Lining along the street are approximately 90 shops famous for their sweets, Kimono, toys and crafts.

Sensoji Temple (Asakusa Kannon)

 

From Kaminari-mon (Thunder Gate), Nakamise-Dori leads straight to Senso-ji. 87 small shops packed with senbei rice crackers, small ningyoyaki pancakes, kimonos and fans, etc. line the street.

Kappabashi Dogugai (Kitchenware Town)

 

About 170 stores stand on a street over 800m long. Concentrations of this sort of specialty shop are rare all over the world. All kinds of kitchenware is available.

Rokku Broadway

 

6 statues of Gods of Arts modeled after singers including Enoken and Taro Shoji are displayed here. Lining along the street are movie theaters and arts and entertainment halls.

Hanayashiki Amusement Park

24 kinds of attractions are squeezed into a limited space.

Ueno Station and Its Surrounding Area

  

In Atre Ueno, a shop complex in the station building, there are galleries, restaurants and various shops. You would come across many artworks in the building, which makes you feel that the place is really cool.

Ueno Koen

 

The park is dotted with museums, art museums, cultural facilities, a zoo and shrines. It is a very famous Hanami (watching cherry blossoms) spot in spring.

Ueno Zoo

 

The first zoo in Japan. There are more than five hundred kinds of animals such as Panda bears and aye-ayes from the world.

Tokyo National Museum

 

It collects and keeps Japanese and Oriental arts and archaeological relics. Honkan (main building), Toyokan (Oriental building), Heiseikan, and Horyuji-Homotsukan are open to the public.

National Science Museum

 

There are 4 blocks, Honkan, Midorikan, Shinkan and the outdoor section. In Shinkan (New Building) you can touch the exhibits.

National Museum of Western Art

An art museum for Western art. Various events like concerts or lecture meetings are also held.

 

Uenonomori Museum (Ueno Royal Museum)

 

Important cultural properties are open to the public here. International and other various exhibitions are held.

Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum

 

It opened in 1926. Various artists' groups (oil painting, Japanese painting, handcraft, etc.) hold public or planned exhibitions. There are also restaurants and shops.

Ameya Yoko Cho

 

This area is located between Ueno and Okachimachi. Various products including groceries, apparels, cosmetics and medicine are sold at lower cost.

Yushima Tenmangu (Yushima Tenjin)

 

A shrine, Michizane Sugawara, is dedicated to the God of Academic Education. It is also known for its 300 plum trees, which blooms in spring 

 

 

Japan's No.1 Electric City lit by neon and Specialized stores flourishes in the area.

An area with the most advanced electric products and an area with a retrospective atmosphere coexist in perfect harmony. Good for shopping and walking as well.

 

  

Denkigai (wholesale store's street of electrical appliances)

 

This started as a large wholesale store that attracted traders dealing in electronics from all over Japan because it was said that the store was very cheap. The street has developed rapidly since then.

Asakusabashi Ton-Ya-Gai (Wholesale District)

 

The biggest wholesale-store street in Tokyo. Most stores also sell retail. Prices are sometimes 30 - 40 percent below retail.

Kanda-Koshoten-Gai (Used Book Store District)

 

The world's largest district that houses approximately 150 used book stores. You will find a vast selection of books in various fields.

Ochanomizu-Gakki-Gai (Music Instrument Store District)

 

Lining along the streets are music instrument stores and music halls. Rental spaces are also available.

Sports-Gai

 

Lining up Yasukuni Street are large sports merchandise stores, outdoor shops and cycling shops.

Tokyo Dome City

 

Includes Tokyo Dome, Korakuen Amusement Park and Tokyo Dome Hotel. Various events are held all through the year.

KAMAKURA

 

Kamakura

Surrounded by nature such as mountains and ocean, and dotted with shrines, temples, and museums. Shops are lined that blend with the landscape of the ancient capital.

From Yokohama station, take JR Yokosuka line and exit Kita-kamakura station or Kamakura station(about 20 minutes from Yokohama)

Zeniarai Benzaiten Ugafuku Jinja Shrine

It is said that Hojo Tokiyori washed his money with the water here and prayed for his family's prosperity. Following his example, people have washed their money and prayed for happiness and prosperity. The water used to wash the money is one of Kamakura's 5 famous waters.

A 30 minute walk from Kamakura station, west exit

Kotokuin Temple (Daibutsu)

The Buddha statue, the only designated national treasure of Kamakura. It is 11.31m tall and weighs 124t. The official name is Amida Nyorai Zazo of Taiisan Kotoku-in Shojo Senji. Casting began in 1252, and when it was finished, it was completely covered with gold foil.

Meigetsuin Temple

A Rinzai Zen temple, also called "Hydrangea Temple" because of the beautiful hydrangea blooming every year. On the temple grounds, there are also the main building, a cave, and the tomb of Hojo Tokiyori, etc.

Kencho-ji Temple

Built by Hojo Tokiyori in 1253, Kencho-ji Temple is one of the "Kamakura Gozan (top 5 temples)," and the first Zen temple in Japan.

Kotaki Museo d'Arte (Kita-Kamakura Kotaki Museum)

A museum of Venetian glass and photography created by Tatsuro Kotaki. Antique beads are also displayed.

Tsurugaoka

Completed in 1063 under the direction of Minamoto Yoriyoshi, this Hachiman shrine commemorates medieval Kamakura with its lingering legend of Yoshitsune and Shizuka Gozen.

Enoshima Electric Railway

Known as Enoden, this runs for only 15 stations, between Kamakura and Fujisawa station. Famous temples and shrines, popular restaurants, gift shops and other famous spots and attractions are concentrated along the line, so it's always bustling with tourists.

Exit Kamakura station on the JR Yokosuka line. Exit Fujisawa station or Katase-Enoshima station on the Odakyu line.

The Museum of Modern Art, Kanagawa
(Kanagawa Kenritsu Kindai-Bijyutsukan)

On the grounds of Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu, next to the Heike pondÅAthis has been constructed to draw in natural light.

Hasedera Temple

The central image is the Juichimen Kannon, the bodhisattva Avalokitesvara represented with eleven faces. Its 9.18meter height makes it the largest wooden sculpture in Japan. Known as the "Hase Kannon".

A 5 minute walk from Hase station on the Enoshima Electric Railway. A 3 minute walk from Hasekannon-mae bus stop on the Keikyu Enoden bus.
